Observation Hours

so I was talking to my friend this weekend who goes to school up in New York. We started talking about observation hours, and she was surprised when I told her we were responsible for our own observation hours. The school she goes to, they set up your observation hours. I wish Kutztown did that for us. I think it would be so much easier for them to tell us to go do your hours, instead of you having to find the schools, and the time yourself. I just thought it would be really cool if Kutztown could do that for us. I don't think it would ever happen, but one could wish. It is kinda cool to talk to people for colleges in different states, but the requirements are different, and their policies are different....

    I agree with you. That would make our lives so much easier if we would have the hours set up for us. I talk with my friend who goes to another college in PA and she doesn't have to take as many classes as we do each semester. I told her I was taking 6 classes and she thought I was crazy, she only takes 4. I was surprised. Your right though, each college is different with the requirements but I guess as long as we graduate with the certificate its all good. I really liked this blog!!!

    My sister finished her teaching certificate at Ship. She was also surprised that we have to schedule our own hours. I think that it would just be easier for Kutztown to do it. Most schools that I know of won't let you observe unless the school sets up the appointment anyway so it's almost wasting your time. People wonder why some teachers are bad. I say it's because all the schools offering certificates do not require or teach the same things. So you have teachers out there who don't have to work as hard as other and think that it's all a big joke. Did you know that there is a program that offers a certificate in just a few weeks? Forget the observation hour you don't have any time; just go teach.

    It would be easier but it is kind of nice to pick the teachers that you observe. I like to know the teacher it makes me feel more at ease. But if we could give some options to our advisors and they set up the hours I think that it would be a lot easier
